See Jesus See The Father
John 14:9 NKJV
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Here Jesus is speaking to Phillip in response to Phillip’s question in verse 8. Phillip, walking by sight, ask Jesus to show them the Father in order to believe.
Notice:
- Jesus responds with a question. “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? Jesus is asking Phillip, have I been with you all this time and yet you don’t know who I AM?
- Jesus then answers Phillip’s question. Jesus points Phillip to His Divine nature.
- Jesus said, anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.
- Therefore, Phillip how can you ask Me to show you the Father?
Child of God:
As a baptized born again believer:
- You may not understand the duel nature of Christ, (100% God and 100% Man).
- You may not understand His forgiveness of sin and His withholding the wrath that you deserve for your inherited sin.
- You may not understand God’s Grace and Mercy, ( He imputed to you His righteousness and He took your sins upon Himself).
- Jesus told Nicodemus, (John 3:16-18), that God gave Jesus as a substitute for you.
- Jesus told Nicodemus that He did not come to destroy the world.
- Jesus told Nicodemus that the world through Him might avoid the wrath of God, (salvation).
- Jesus told Nicodemus that the believer would be saved, and the unbeliever would be condemned because of his/her unbelief.
Today the Holy Spirit is saying to you that Jesus is the expressed image of the invisible God. Believe by faith, (you may not understand).
Meditate on the God in Christ that took away the wrath of God from you.
- Human to die a sacrificial death.
- Divine to rise from the dead with all power.
Thank God for the God Man Jesus the Christ.
Thank God that you can see God the Father through Jesus the Christ
May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV). Love Ya Webster
