Made To Have Dominion
Genesis 1:26 NKJV
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
This verse records the genesis of humanity; God made male and female in His image and likeness and gave them dominion over all His creation
Notice:
1. God said…
a.) Let us make humankind in our image, (like us, the Godhead).
b.) They will have dominion over…
• The fish in the ocean.
• The birds in the air.
• All living animals,(small and great).
2. God made humankind in His own image, (the image of God).
3. God made both male and female in His image and likeness.
Child of God, hear this powerful truth from the Word of God.
• The question where did humankind originate from is answered in the Bible, humankind was made by God.
• The question, who do I, the baptized born again believer, look like, is answered in the Bible, I look like God.
• The question what do I, the baptized born again believer, have control over, the answer is in the Bible, I have dominion over God’s created world.
• The question of what am I to do here, the answer is in the Bible, seek God in His Word for your purpose.
• Trust God’s instructions in His Word for the power and authority to accomplish His purpose.
Meditate on the truth that you are made in the image and likeness of God.
Meditate on the truth that you are being conformed to the image of Christ by the Fruit of His Spirit.
Thank God for giving you the power and authority to thrive on the earth while completing your purpose.
