Your Anointed Ministry
Isaiah 61:2-3 NKJV
2. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
Jesus reads these Words in the temple, (Luke 4:18), written by the prophet Isaiah to the children of Israel. Jesus knows that these Words describe Him and His purpose.
Notice what the Spirit is for.
1. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
2. To proclaim the day of vengeance of our God.
3. To comfort all who mourn.
4. To give them beauty for ashes.
5. To give them the oil of joy for mourning.
6. To give them the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
7. This is so that they can be called trees of righteousness that the Lord plants for His glory.
Child of God, what is the application for the baptized born again believer today?
• Whether or not the world believes it, Jesus can return any time, any day.
• Peace, (harmony with the world, harmony with self, and harmony with God), in this world can only be found in Jesus the Christ.
• The Holy Spirit of God in you has anointed you to bring hope to…
a.) The hopeless.
b.) The brokenhearted.
c.) Those who mourn.
d.) The oppressed who need the joy of the Lord..
e.) The fearful during times of war.
f.) Those who do not know the peace of God through the gospel of Jesus the Christ.
• Take every opportunity to glorify God.
Meditate on the joy that you can bring to others who do not know Jesus.
Meditate on the purpose and anointing of God in your life.
Thank God that He trust you with His anointed ministry.
