First Is Last
Mark 9: 35 NKJV
35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
Here we hear Jesus teaching His disciples about servanthood.
Notice what Jesus did and what He tells them.
1. He sits down with them, (He made them feel comfortable).
2. He calls them to Him, (He wants their undivided attention).
3. He tells them, “If anyone desires to be first”, (most prominent position, most important).
a.) That person or persons must be last, (the least important).
b.) That person must serve others.
Child of God:
Today the Holy Spirit is saying to you the baptized born again believer…
• As you go about your ministry…
a.) Do not seek to please yourself, (seek to please God).
b.) Do not look for accolades,(expecting someone to acknowledge what you do).
c.) Minister as if you are ministering to the Lord, (you really are when you minister to His people).
d.) Use your gifts and talents to bring glory to God.
Thank God that He sees your labor of love.
Thank God that you are producing fruit for His glory.
Meditate on how pleased God is with you that you are first because you are last.
May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV). Love Ya Webster
