Trouble Don’t Last Always

Psalms 119:143,144 NKJV

143 Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, Yet Your commandments are my delights.
144 The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; Give me understanding, and I shall live.

Give your ear to the conversation that the psalmist is sharing with the Lord.

Notice:

  1. He tells God that there is trouble and anguish, and he feels overwhelmed.
  2. His next words are yet Lord Your commandments are my delights.
  3. The righteousness of Your testimonies Lord is eternal.
  4. Lord with Your assistance in understanding the Word I shall live.

Point: The Psalmist went from feelings of being overwhelmed to a state of joy.

Your question is how did this transformation happen?

  • He trusted the commandments of the Lord.
  • He trusted the righteousness of God’s Word.
  • He trusted the eternality of God’s righteous Word.
  • He trusted the life giving power of God’s Word.

Child of God:

  • Rest in the Power of the Word of God to answer every situation in your life.
  • Trust in the faithfulness of God to give you understanding of His Word.
  • Trust in the faithfulness of God to give an application of His Word in your life.

Meditate on your state of joy as you delight in the God of your salvation.

Thank God that trouble is only temporary.

Thank God that you can and will move from stress to joy.

May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV).  Love Ya Webster
