He Is Fair And Just
Habakkuk 3 :2 NKJV
O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.
In the previous chapters of this book, Habakkuk had questioned God as to why He would use the Babylonians to chasten them for their idolatry. God responded and Habakkuk had to admit that God is a fair and just judge.
Now we read in verse 2 of chapter 3 how Habakkuk prays to God in response to God sharing with him that He, God, sees what is going on.
Notice what Habakkuk says to God .
- Lord I have heard Your voice.
- Lord I am in awe and amazed by the things that You do.
- Lord revive us as You have done in the past.
- Lord show Your power, (make it known).
- Lord in Your wrath show mercy.
Point: Habakkuk is amazed at the fairness and compassion of God in His judgment to the children of Israel.
Child of God…
- God might sometimes use the unsaved to chasten and correct the believer.
- With your natural eye you might not see the fairness in what God is doing.
- Continue to communicate with Him as Habakkuk did and He will answer your questions.
- Continue to communicate with Him and you will be amazed at the love He is showing you in His correction.
- Continue to communicate with Him and you will say God You are fair and just.
Meditate on the truth that God loves you so much that He corrects you, (Hebrews 12:6,7).
Meditate on the Hand of God’s correction, (gentle).
Thank God that in correction there mercy.
Thank God that you are His child.
May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV). Love Ya Webster
