 Lie And Sleep       .

Psalms 4:8 NKJV

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;  For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:8 NIV

8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Notice the two things David says he will do.

  1. Lie down in peace.
  2. Sleep.

Why is he so confident of restfulness?

  1. His God keeps him in a safe place.

 Child of God:

  • You can have the same confidence. 
  • If there is anything that prevents you from peaceful sleep?  Purpose now to give the situation to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • He is your High Priest and your Advocate with the Father.
  • He alone will make you dwell in safety, and you will then have the peace of mind to lie down in peace and sleep.

Meditate on the ability of Jesus to provide you with peaceful rest and sleep.

Thank God that you can both lie in peace and sleep.
