Give It Some Thought

Psalms 8:3-6  NKJV

3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,  The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him,  And the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels,  And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;  You have put all things under his feet.

This is a Psalm written by David.

Notice what David emphasizes.

  1. He is in awe when he looks at God’s creative work.
  1. The sky
  2. The moon
  3. The stars
  1. Such a powerful God takes time to care for humans.
    1. He is mindful of them.
    2. He visits them.
  2. God has given humans a status just a bit under the angels.
  3. God has crowned humans with glory and honor.
  4. God has given humans authority and dominion over all the things He made.

Child of God:

Consider your status as a baptized born again believer.

  1. The Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God, (Romans 8: 16).
  2. You are an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ, (Romans 8:17).
  3. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, (2 Corinthians 5:21).
  4. You have been given the power and authority to condemn every weapon that attacks you, (Isaiah. 24:17).
  5. In eternity you shall be like Jesus, and you will see Him face to face, (1 John 3:2).

Meditate on these truths.

Thank God for a mind capable of giving Him some thought.
