Set the Example

1 Peter 5:5 NKJV

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Peter writes to these Christians to encourage them to live a godly submissive life.

Notice.

  1. Respect the elders, (young saints submit to the older saints, spiritually and chronologically).
  2. Submit to one another, (respect and value each other).
  3. Be clothed with humility, (everyone has value, and that value should be acknowledged)
  4. God resist the proud.
  5. God gives grace to the humble.

Child of God, the Holy Spirit is saying today…

  • God loves the world, that is why He sent Jesus to die for the sins of the world.
  • God sent Jesus to humble Himself even to die on the Cross.
  • God is high and lifted up, (transcendent), yet He is near.

Today the Holy Spirit is saying IMITATE JESUS.

Imitate Jesus the Head and Leader of the Church.

Be the leader that you want to follow, set the example.

Show the world and the church the Fruit of the Spirit being developed in you. Consider Galatians 5:22-23, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.

Meditate on the love of Jesus who said I came to serve.

Thank God for the example of leadership in Jesus that you want to follow.

May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV).  Love Ya Webster
