Grace Not Works
Galatians 2:16 NKJV
16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Paul writes these words to these Christians in Galatia who are in danger of believing the false doctrine of salvation through the Mosaic Law.
Notice what he writes.
- He is persuaded that the Jewish Christians know that they were not justified by the works of the Mosaic Law.
- He believes that the Jewish Christians know that they are justified by faith in the Cross of Christ.
- He believes that all believers, including the Jews, were saved by the anointed One, therefore, they were accepted by God because of their faith.
- Paul believes that the Law did not save.
- Paul writes to the Galatians, no one, Jew or Gentile will ever be justified by obeying the Mosaic Law.
Child of God:
What is the Holy Spirit saying to you the baptized born again believer?
- You may consider yourself a good person.
- You may think that church attendance and serving puts you in good standing with God.
- The only Good person in God.
- Everyone else has the nature of Adam,(sinful).
- The only entrance into being good with God is through His Son Jesus.
- Jesus paid the price for you to be able to stand before God and He see you as good, (justified, cleansed of your sinful nature).
FOLLOW JESUS!!!
Meditate on your clean slate through your faith in Jesus the Christ.
Thank God for His Son Jesus who makes you right with God.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:2 NKJV).
