 That Little Member

James 3:5 NKJV

5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

In this chapter three of James, he shares with these Christians the power of words.

Notice:

  1. The tongue is small, (a little member).
  2. The tongue can boast of great things, (cause enormous  danger).
  3. The tongue can produce a small flame that is capable of starting a forest fire.

Child of God the Holy Spirit is saying today.

  • Be slow to speak and quick to listen.
  • Consider your words carefully.
  • Speak with a heart of love, (select words that line up with the Word of God).
  • Bring that little member under the control of the Holy Spirit

Meditate on the positive and negative power of your words.

Thank God for setting a watch over your mouth and guarding the door of your lips, (Psalms 141:3).

May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV).  Love Ya Webster
