Inside
1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
In this verse we see how God directs Samuel in choosing a king to serve His people,(children of Israel).
Notice how God directs Samuel.
1. Do not look at his outward appearance or his physical stature.
2. That is not how I choose; I have refused, (rejected,) the one you are looking at.
3. I the Lord do not choose as humans do.
a.) Humans choose based upon the outward appearance, (what they can see with the natural eye).
4. I the Lord God Almighty looks at the heart.
Child of God, the Holy Spirit is saying to you today.
• All that glitters is not gold.
• All that appears dull should not be discarded.
• Use discernment in all relationships and dealings.
• Ask Me if it is really what it looks like, (not just the obvious).
• Ask Me to help you to see what I see.
• Ask Me if it is within My will.
Thank God for the gift of discernment.
Thank God for helping you see the inside, (the heart).
Meditate on the love God has for you to give you a heart like His.
May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV). Love Ya Webster
