 It Ain’t Yours

1 Chronicles 29:14 NKJV

But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You, And  of Your own we have given You.

In this chapter David shares with the people his goals and desires for building the temple. The people are receptive and agree to assist Soloman in the work . The people also give of their substance freely.

In this verse we hear David’s humble submission to the Lord.

Notice what David says to the Lord.

  1. Who are we,(David and the people), Lord,  that we would think that we could give anything to you.
  2. Everything we have comes from you.
  3. God we only give to you what you have given to us.

Child of God:

You might be asking, what does this Old Testament text say to you, the baptized born again believer?

  • Psalms 24:1 reads the earth is the Lord’s along with everything in it, also the world and all the people in it.
  • Jesus purchased you with His Blood.
  • Every good and perfect gift comes from God,(James 1:17).
  • 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him, (Colossians 1:16).
  • You and all your surroundings belong to the Lord.

Therefore, it is your duty to freely offer back to Him what He has given to you.

Freely give Him your time, talents, and material things.

Meditate on the truth that it all belongs to Him.

Meditate on the truth that it Ain’t yours

Thank God for sharing Himself and His belongings with you.

May God "teach you to number your days, that you may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12, NKJV).  Love Ya Webster
