A Different Look
2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV
18 While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
In verses 16,17 Paul writes to the church in Corinth to encourage them to see spiritual truths and the rewards of serving in ministry. He wants them to look with the spiritual eye as opposed to the natural eye.
Notice in verse 18 …
- He shares that he does not look with his natural vision.
- He shares that he sees in the spiritual realm, (things that are not seen).
- He shares that what they see on earth is temporary.
- He shares that the future, what is not yet realized, (seen) is eternal.
Point: Take a different look into what God wants you to see.
Child of God.
- Listen and hear the Holy Spirit speaking with you now.
- What you may perceive now with the natural eye as permanent and disturbing is only temporary as God works in and through you to get you to where He wants you to be.
- Do not be discouraged, progress is not always visible to the natural eye.
- Put your spiritual eye on Jesus as He develops and shapes you to look like Him.
- The invisible,(end product), exceeds the visible, (natural).
Meditate on the joy that awaits you when you are face to face with Jesus.
Thank God for His careful and steady attention to your growth.
Thank God that you have the opportunity to take a different look.
May the Lord be with your spirit (2 Timothy 4: 22 a).
Love you Webster
